A survey by Independent Sector, a US-based umbrella group of nonprofit organizations, shows that 63% of Hispanic household contributed to charity in 1998, with the average gift amounting to US$ 504. To capitalize on such philanthropy, Hispanic-focused agencies are seeking new methods of fundraising.
