The Iraq-Kuwait border dispute: Still a factor for instability?

The border between Iraq and Kuwait is a source of actual or potential instability, until Saddam Hussain was removed in April 2003. Kuwait is shaping plans for a major port and free zone on Bubiyan and Warba islands, which could become an important plank in a modern relationship between the independent sovereign states of Iraq and Kuwait.

Glass slides from the 1930's Haifa to Baghdad route survey
Article Abstract:
Mr. E.H. Keeling showed glass slides when he lectured to the Society in May 1934 on the subject of a route projected for a railway between Haifa and Baghdad. It was to pass completely through territory under British authority and a selection of his slides can be found here.

Palestine: The return of the one-state solution

A possible solution accepted by both Israel and Palestine to their bitter struggle lies in the creation of a Palestine state. Proponents to this solution state that such a political restructuring would help to normalize the paradoxical ethical and legal status of Israel.
