Last year small businesses won only 20% of the total $200 billion spent by the federal government on procurement. The government has made it possible for all businesses to compete equally though use of the Internet. The Minority Business Development Agency has developed the Phoenix program with makes available on its Web site free contract matchmaking services for minority-owned businesses.

The Spanish speaking youth will largely influence the future of Hispanic television. At present, television network giants, Univision and Telemundo, are developing sitcoms and action series intended for the bicultural Hispanics. They also offer scholarships to reach out to Hispanic youths.
