Adolescent adjustment to perceived marital conflict

Article Abstract:

The emotional and cognitive effects of marital conflict and the manner by which the conflict adversely affected adolescent functioning were investigated through the integration of the research literature with the theoretical frameworks established by Grych and Fincham. It was hypothesized that severity and extent of interparental conflict predict adjustment problems and behavior for adolescents. It was discovered that severity of interparental conflict predicted adolescent internalized and externalized adjustment problems.
