Boys' experimentation and persistence in developmental pathways toward serious delinquency
Article Abstract:
Previous work documenting developmental pathways in disruptive behaviour leading to serious delinquency in boys has been expanded. The three pathways previously hypothesized were, authority conflict, covert and overt. Further work distinguished between boys who experiment and those who are persistently disruptive. The proportion of persisters entering each pathway at the early stages was found to be higher than that for experimenters, and penetration in each pathway was more common in boys who were diagnosed with Attention-Deficit Hyperactive Disorder.

Mental health service utilization among Puerto Rican children ages 4 through 16
Article Abstract:
A survey was conducted to examine the level of utilization of child mental health services in Puerto Rico. The study involved 777 children aged four to 16. The results showed that the total utilization rate of these services was only 6%. Mental health care providers were found to comprise mostly of psychologists and/or social workers. The reason most often cited by parents for not getting care for their mentally retarded children was that they did not think that disorder was serious enough to warrant medical attention.
