Pregnancy causes the skin to undergo mostly temporary changes. Most of the changes are caused by the expansion of the skin, or by the body's reaction to high levels of certain hormones. They range from stretch marks, to increased pigmentation, to rashes and spots. Some conditions can be alleviated.

Are schools failing black boys?
Article Abstract:
Young African American boys are failing in their third or fourth grades due to the shift from an informal learning-by-doing style to the more structured sit-down-and-listen style. Racism and low expectations may be other factors. Approaches to solving the problem are discussed.

The walker controversy
Article Abstract:
Parents and pediatricians are fighting to convince the Consumer Product Safety Commission to ban baby walkers because they can be unsafe. Walkers can also interfere with natural walking development, and babies in walkers need lots of supervision.
