Triaging and interpreting chest pain
Article Abstract:
Several sources of information can be helpful in identifying the cause of a patient's chest pain. Practitioners should immediately evaluate the patient's electrocardiogram for abnormal heart signals followed by a thorough examination and heart imaging tests to rule out a heart attack. Further enzyme and stress tests can be performed to identify other conditions if the patient has not experienced a heart attack.
