On publishing family research using "sophisticated" quantitative methodologies
Article Abstract:
Sophisticated quantitative methodologies can create problems by obscuring measurement or theory inaccuracies or generating errors if the researcher is unaware of the limits of the methodology. Problems could also result if the reviewer is unable to understand the methodology and so chooses not to recommend the article for publication. The last problem does not seem very important because reviewers usually assume the author is correct and the first two can be solved through education.
