Stepfamily therapy from the client's perspective
Article Abstract:
Stepfamily therapy clients value their marriages and families, giving them the strength and will to seek help. While many view therapy as a positive and helpful experience, many also find it disappointing. These were among the key findings in a study of stepfamily therapy experiences, using data from 279 stepfamily therapy clients. Their responses also suggest ways by which therapists can provide help, namely, through validation of their experiences, normalization of stepfamily situations and challenges, alleviation of their sense of helplessness, and reinforcement of the couple's bond.

Back to the basics: trends in and role determinants of women's attitudes toward housework
Article Abstract:
Data from a telephone survey conducted by the Survey Research Center of the University of Maryland were used to determine the factors affecting women's attitudes toward housework. The result indicated that women's attitudes toward household chores remained the same, with substantial increases in fulfilment related to house cleaning and recognized importance of a well-maintained home. Moreover, the youngest group surveyed gives more effort and energy into household work compared to their counterparts in 1975.
