The imperfect child; so what if your first parent-teacher conference is less than glowing?
Article Abstract:
Parents of a 3 1/2-year-old child, who had his first school parent-teacher conference half-way into his first year of nursery school, were disappointed by the teacher's comments. They had expected praise on their son's behavior. Instead they were given recommendations for improving his behavior. After reconciling parental ego versus the son's negative behavior, the parents were able to work toward resolving the problems.

Parent as patient
Article Abstract:
Parents who are not feeling well should put their children in day care or get help from a friend or family member. Normal routines need not be carried out, and the child can be amused by being given a new toy. Children need to be told that the parent will be fine.
