Uncovering daycare dangers
Article Abstract:
The consumer Product Safety Commission visited 220 licensed daycare programs across the country and found that at least two-thirds had safety hazards. The hazards included unsafe cribs where the slats were spaced too far apart, soft bedding which creats risk for sudden infant death syndrome, inadequate use of safety gates, unsafe window blinds with loops on the cords and use of recalled toys, cribs and other products.

Daycare, just down the hall
Article Abstract:
Parents who would like their employers to establish daycare facilities at work are advised to negotiate with management from an informed position. Before negotiations begin, parents should know who else is interested in on-site childcare and who would pay for it if it were approved.

Great grains
Article Abstract:
The family culinary life can be broadened beyond rice and past by adding chewy barley, nutty bulgur and couscous. They are easy to cook and children and adults like them. Dinnertime cooking is shortened because the grains can be cooking while other food is being prepared.
