Isle of Man ferry group accepts 46.8 million pounds sterling takeover
Article Abstract:
Isle of Man Steam Packet Company will be acquired by Sea Containers for 46.8 million pounds sterling. The offer has been approved by the board of Steam Packet. Sea Containers already held a stake of 44% in the company, and has increased this stake to 58.5%. A holding of 25% has to be retained for shareholders to allow a listing, and Sea Containers is encouraging shareholders to retain a stake by increasing fare concessions. Relations with the Isle of Man would be easier if Steam Packet retained a separate listing.

Article Abstract:
Property syndication, which allows investors to pool their money to purchase property for set periods of time, is one of Australia's fast growing investment strategies. Their popularity comes from comparatively high yields and tax-sheltered income status. Investors should consider the manager as important as the property, scrutinize leases associated with the property and realize that property syndicates is a safe high-yielding investment but can also be a complicated investment vehicle.
