The Maremma region along the Mediterranean coast, for long regarded as Tuscany's 'wild frontier', is flourishing with great restaurants, fine hotels and a good number of wineries. The natural and cultural attractions of Maremma, such as the natural reserve the Parco della Maremma and the local rodeo shows are mentioned, and details of Maremma's red wines from fruity Morellinos to Cabernets and wineries like Erik Banti, Tenuta Marsiliana and Moris Farms, and restaurants and hotels in the region are presented.

Tokaj's rebirth

The foreign investors are helping in resurrecting Tokaj's vineyard's, which is considered to be one of Europe's most historic and best wine regions. Chateau Dereszla, Disznoko, Chateau Pajzos and Royal Tokaji Wine Co. are some of Wine Spectator's highest-scoring Tokaji wine producers.
