Another golden harvest for Sauternes

Charles Chevallier, technical director of Chateau Rieussec gives his opinions about the types of wines he tasted from the samples of the 2003 Sauternes and Barsac and gave the vintage overall a tentative rating of 90-40 points, or outstanding, on the Wine Spectator 100-point scale. Charles was of the view that not only was the harvest special, the wines showed fabulous richness and power.

The bitter taste of French-American politics
Article Abstract:
Wine and politics do not mix but the current situation in France makes it harder and harder to keep the two apart, especially in view of strong allegiance to the United States and Great Britain. The difference in opinion between the two countries regarding production of wines is discussed.

Is Chateau Montrose a one-hit wonder?

Chateau Montrose, the well-known second-growth of Bordeaux's St. Estephe, is a perfect wine to some, whereas some consider it as 1945 Mouton. Having made its name on vintages, Montrose is said to make the best of wines since the 1980s.
