Banner year for Zinfandel; about the only sour note for 1994 is that these bright, lush wines are often scarce and rising in price
Article Abstract:
A smaller-than-usual crop of grapes and ideal weather conditions may have made California's 1994 Zinfandel vintage its best ever. The wines are ripe, fruity and full of flavor. Their texture is supple and fleshy. Many of the wines are tannic, which indicates that they may have good aging potential.
