Bourgoin takes control of France Volailles

Bourgoin of France, a poultry group, has taken control of France Volailles, subsidiary of Cooperative du Gouessant, consolidating its position as the second biggest poultry group after Doux. France Volailles had losses of 3.6 million French francs in 1993 on sales of 1.8 billion francs and is suffering from competition in the French poultry market causing a drop in retail prices.

Difficult times for Greek poultry sector
Article Abstract:
The Greek poultry sector was affected by questions about the quality of EU poultry by EU consumers and the large quantities of cheap French imports in 1995. However Mimikos retained its lead and saw sales increase 8.3% helped by significant export activity and its involvement in processed poultry and pork product production. There is also a significant presence by cooperatives.
