Bruno Prats looks overseas after Cos-d'Estournel sale
Article Abstract:
Vintner Bruno Prats sold his family's winery, Chateau Cos-d'Estournel, to the Bernard Taillan Group and four Argentine businessmen. Prats was forced to sell when his brothers retired and Prats did not have the resources to buy their shares. Prats was president of the company for 21 years. Now Prats is interested in vineyards in Chile and Spain.

An impressive new name in Pinot Noir

Adam and Dianna Lee moved to Sonoma, California in 1993 and founded Siduri Cellars. Their fist Pinot Noir vintage was introduced in 1994. The company owns some vineyards and purchases grapes from other growers. The Lees by grapes by the acre. Their vintages have proved to be quite good and growth is predicted.

The Zinfandel boom
Article Abstract:
Over 5,000 participants in the Zinfandel Advocates and Producers 1998 San Francisco tasting enjoyed 1996 barrel samples of the California varietal in 1998 at the seventh annual tasting. Some 151 vintners offered samples of their Zinfandel.
