Building a cellar to go

Two friends built a wine cellar for $1,200. The cellar is insulated, cooled with an inexpensive air conditioner and will hold up to 70 cases of wine. Neither had experience as a carpenter, and they say the cellar could have been constructed for less money.

Zinfandel collectors Joel Stewart and Chuck Asfahl have excellent collections. These wines are usually consumed young, but can be cellared for five or six years. The two discuss their feelings about this type of wine and how they began to collect it.

What does a cellar cost?
Article Abstract:
A wine cellar can cost as little as 25 cents per bottle, if no temperature control is required, or it can cost upwards of $25,000 for a large and elaborate cellar. It depends on the collection, local weather and the needs of the owner.
