German grocery retailers leave much to be desired
Article Abstract:
German food retailers have been criticised by shoppers on a number of grounds. They would prefer more hand baskets, wider shopping alleys, and better guides to the layout of stores. Staff are often perceived as unfriendly and untrained and stores are often dirty. Price marking is not seen as adequate and freezer temperatures are often too high. Choice of store is often influenced by location, and hypermarkets tend to be used for basics and long-term purchases.
