Index rises again for first quarter 1996

Article Abstract:

The Wine Spectator Auction index was up 9.2% in 1st qtr 1996. The best- performing categories were red Burgundies, rising 23% and California reds, up 11%. Red Bordeaux still make up two-thirds of all wines sold at auction. Top 1989 Bordeaux rose 14%, while 1990 Bordeaux were up 20%.

Index prices continue to rise

Article Abstract:

Wine prices for the 28 wines in the Wine Spectator Auction Index rose 7% between 1st qtr 1995 and 2nd qtr 1995. The price of red Bordeaux rose 8% during that time. Information on average price, percent change in price, and high and low prices is presented.
