Progress at Portugal's table
Article Abstract:
The Douro River valley, world-renowned for Vintage Ports, is proving to be a high quality source for table wines made from Portugal's native grape varieties, including Nacional, Touriga France and Tinta Amarela. The Alentejo, Estremadura and the Dao regions offer some of the most well-priced wines, such as the Adega Cooperative de Borba Touriga Nacional Alentejo 2002, the Caves Alianca Dao Reserva 1999 and the Agricola Quinta do Gradil Estremadura Berco do Infante Reserva 2002.
