Article Abstract:
Fifteen restaurateurs and sommeliers report that patrons are buying more Pinot Noir, Zinfandel and Merlot. Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay and Bordeaux sales have decreased, although they still sell well. Top restaurants were polled.

California vintners battle deadly grapevine disease
Article Abstract:
Pierce's disease is spread by the sharpshooter, a leaf-hopping insect. The vines die after becoming discolored and dry. This occurs primarily where winters are mild. Vintners are concerned about the spread of the disease.
