Carole Meredith, one of the prominent grapevine geneticists in the world, has cleared up the cases of mistaken identity in California's vineyards, and has traced the historically mysterious heritage of Zinfandel, which is one of the state's signature grapes. Meredith taught the introduction to winemaking course for 12 years, as well as a course on world viticulture.
