Sonoma benefit changes its focus

The Sonoma County Wine Auction changed its name to the Sonoma County Showcase of Wine and Food for its 19th year. The 4-day event raided $694,000 for Share Our Strength, a national organization that provides food and other services to the poor and homeless. Sixty wineries were represented, and about 2,000 guests attended.

Sonoma County re-creates Rome to raise funds
Article Abstract:
The 17th Annual Sonoma County Showcase and Wine Auction that began Jul 20, 1997, used the theme Bacchus' First Symphony to raise $600,000 for charity. The San Francisco Symphony performed at the event at Sonoma-Cutrer Vineyards.
