The secrets of the Santa Cruz Mountains
Article Abstract:
The Ridge Chardonnay Santa Cruz Mountains Monte Bello 1999, the Mount Eden Pinot Noir Santa Cruz Mountains 2003 and the Kathryn Kennedy Cabernet Sauvignon Santa Cruz Mountains 1999, all characterized by a thick, midpalate density which is a feature of excellent aging, are products from the Santa Cruz Mountains. The environment and the soil of the Santa Cruz Mountains, a small, hard-to-access region at an elevation of just over 2000 feet, overlooking Silicon Valley are seen to be responsible for the wines' good taste, texture and age ability.
