The destiny of wine nations
Article Abstract:
Wine-producing areas are more interactive than at any time in history and because of this the cultures of various wine regions fall into roles that are called the Instructed and the Instructional. Since innovation travels rapidly in the existing wine world, instructed nations can quickly become Instructional when they achieve breakthroughs in one or more of three key categories which are academic research, innovative winemaking and insightful, original marketing.

The newest and most competitive region for producing true Pinot Noir wines is discovered in New Zealand's Central Otago district. The two zones of Central Otago, Gibbston Valley and the Cromwell Basin, where Pinot Noir is grown are described.
