South Africa continues to improve the quality of its wines from Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon to Sauvignon Blanc and Chenin Blanc, and in 2005, the country topped one million cases in exports to the United States for the first time, with a rapidly growing number of small, quality-oriented producers and diverse wines leading the way.
