Heinz Pet Products has included the 9-Lives Dry Kitten Formula in its 9-Lives brand cat food. The new product has a meatier taste, fortified with calcium and iron and with high levels of protein. The 9-Lives Dry Kitten Formula gives kittens complete nutrition, along with the taste of fish and poultry. A 3.5-pound bag is suggested to sell for $3.39 each and was designed to attract kitten owners through the use of light pastel colors. For older cats, Heinz has also come up with 9-Lives Select with Tuna dry formula, which is also rich in protein and provides complete nutrition.

The technological basis of the company's fermentation strengthens particular flavor notes which can be mixed to produce complete profiles to better satisfy customer needs. Powder Pushed Notes can be had in different flavors, including drawn butter, fruity, and toasted cheese. Pushed Note powders now makes possible the creation of unique flavor profiles in snack seasonings, dry blends and other processed foods.
