Model portfolios: recent developments

Article Abstract:

Three types of portfolios for investors with different attitudes and expectations from stocks are suggested. The first portfolio lists the stocks with above-average year-ahead price potential, the second portfolio lists the stocks for income and potential price appreciation and the third portfolio lists the stocks with long-term price growth potential. The suggested portfolios are based on the stock performances as per data available as of June 16, 2006.

A commercial superconductor launch

Article Abstract:

American Superconductor Corp has launched the PQDC, a low superconducting magnetic energy storage (SMES) device. The PQDC, which is the first commercial product in its SMES product line, is designed to protect equipment from momentary voltage fluctuations and outages in electric power grids that can shut down industrial machineries. It occupies less space than conventional storage devices and is environmentally friendly.
