The magnificent 30: Clos Pepe Vineyards

Article Abstract:

The Clos Pepe Vineyards in Lompoc, Santa Barbara, have 29 acres of vines, of which 25 are planted to Pinot, with the balance in Chardonnay. The quality trend of the Clos Pepe Pinot Noirs is on the upswing, from 89 points for its 2000 inaugural vintage to 93 points for the 2004, and vineyard manager and winemaker Wes Hagen is seeing added richness and fruit flavors in the wines as the vineyards mature.

Charge filed against Hundred Acre owner

Napa vintner Jayson Woodbridge faces legal problems from his wine-production facility in St. Helena. The producer of the expensive Hundred Acre Cabernet Sauvignon may face both criminal and civil suits in Napa, with the criminal charge for producing wine without a license and the civil charge for apparent violation of his use permit.
