The Americans are greatly influenced by the Italian cuisine which is simple and informal and more like home cooking, and the main flavors of Italian cuisine, the ingredients like balsamico, basil and olive oil, tools, dishes, recipes like Pizza Margherita of Italy are mentioned. The maps of the culinary iconic products are shown, and histories of wine regions and the strengths are mentioned.

Article Abstract:
There are many types of Italian olive oil for the American gourmet to sample. There are many different flavors and varieties and oils from different areas vary markedly. Regions in and around Tuscany and the oil produced are examined. Tuscan oil is peppery and herbaceous, Umbrian and Ligurian oil is mild and delicate. Other regions and characteristic oils are presented.
