Winemaking passion in Israel

Article Abstract:

The winemaking industry in Israel is the result of the passion and dedication of a few winemakers belonging to small, family-run ventures, although they are faced with problems of limited local demand and export hurdles. The Bordeaux, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Syrah, Pinot Noir and Pinotage blends produced by the Israeli winemakers are interesting by virtue of being a combination of the character of ancient Middle Eastern soils with modern knowledge of quality winemaking.
