Morphing for charity: Napa Valley Wine Auction raises record $3.8 million

The 18th annual 1998 Napa Valley Wine Auction drew approximately 2,000 bidders, who bought such wines as a 1995 Dalla Valle Maya. Festivities included the auction, drama, music, dancing and gourmet foods. Proceeds went to local health care.

The 15th Annual Napa Valley Wine Auction raised a record-setting $1,796,250 in Jun. 1995 for charity wine auctions. Patrick O'Dell was the highest bidder with a grand total of $180,700 and the auction's record holder for a single bid.
