UK exporters urged to think global to survive

Article Abstract:

Manufactures of food and drink products in the UK must change their attitudes to international trade and be willing to export goods outside Europe if they wish to continue to increase their businesses. Some 64% of all exported goods, valued at 10.1 billion pounds sterling, are sent to the European Union countries. The UK industry must be prepared to take advantage of growing markets such as in Russia and China. A study predicted that exports from the UK could be worth around 20 billion pounds sterling by the year 2005.
