Portuguese vintners are becoming more innovative winemakers. Bairrada region winemaker Luis Pato has approximately 150 acres of vines, and his $32 1995 Bairrada Vinha Barrosa merited an 89 on a scale of one to 100 from Wine Spectator tasters. Top scoring and bargain wines are evaluated.
