Cris and JoAnn Cherry, restaurateurs-turned-vintners, created one of Paso Robles' best Rhone-style blends, when they came up with their first wine called '2001 Avenger Paso Robles' of their new label called 'Villa Creek Cellars'. The wine oozes black cherry, currant and espresso flavors, with generous toasty oak character, being a blend of forty percent Syrah, thirty percent Grenache and thirty percent Mourvedre.

The magnificent 30: Sea Smoke Cellars

Sea Smoke Cellars, situated in the Santa Rita Hills appellation of Santa Barbara County, produces only Pinot Noir, crafting wines with beautifully detailed flavors and superb balance. Owner Kris Curran makes three bottlings, each a blend of different parcels from the 100-acre vineyard in order to capture a distinct style, namely Botella, Ten and Southing.
