Why Zinfandel gets no respect
Article Abstract:
Zinfandel may be a very popular wine but it does not command the same respect as French wines such as Bordeaux. Zinfandel's being an American wine may partly be a reason for the disdain of wine connoisseurs. Nevertheless, zinfandel should be recognized for its unmistakeable identity as an American wine.

Zinfandel wines from 1988 to 1991, along with two non-vintage wines, are rated on a scale of one to 100. Several 1990 Zinfandels are very highly rated, the favorite being a 1991 Peachy Canyon Paso Robles Zinfandel Westside at $11.50 It is rated 91. No tasting notes are given.
