Wiseman buys Scottish Pride's milk interests
Article Abstract:
Collapsed dairy company Scottish Pride has sold all its liquid milk interests to Robert Wiseman Dairies for 4.8 million pounds sterling. The assets include a milk bottling unit and seven distribution depots. Scottish Pride's Fresh 'n Lo semi-skimmed milk trademark is also being sold to Wiseman, whose attempts to buy the dairy in 1996 for over 15 million pounds sterling were opposed by the UK's Monopolies and Mergers Commission.

Waterford Foods aided by good dairy sales

Waterford Foods of Ireland, a food group, has seen a rise in 1995 pre tax profits of 22.7% to 24.9 million Irish pounds, on sales of 786.7 million Irish pounds. This was achieved with improved dairy markets and increased competitiveness. Combined sales from its consumer products division rose 17% representing 44% of total sales. Fresh dairy product exports represent 20% of the company's total output.

Waterford Foods acquires The Cheese Company

Waterford Foods of Ireland, a dairy company, has purchased The Cheese Company of the UK, a major cheese maker, making an enlarged business with combined turnover of more than 1 billion Irish pounds.
