Bandol's big reds
Article Abstract:
The history of Bandol, which is almost unique among ProvenceEs wine regions, located between Marseille and Toulon is described. In 1941, when the late Lucien Peyraud of Domaine Tempier, whose family still routinely makes outstanding red wines, helped to gain Appellation d'Origine Controlee status for the region, thus modern history of Bandol began.

South of France provides deep, richly flavored red wines that can be obtained at a price between $15 to $30 range. Domaine Tempier Bandol Cuvee Speciale La Migoua 2001, Domaines Bunan Bandol Chateau La Rouviere 2000, Domaines Bunan Bandol Mas de la Rouviere 2000 are some of the top wines coming from the South of France.
