Blue plate highways: an Arkansas eating tour

Arkansas is noted as a roadfood-rich region. The state abounds with various roadside cafes and diners that serve French fries, catfish, coleslaw and hot corn bread. However, barbecue remains to be the state's most famous culinary offering as attested by the large number of barbecue houses.
