Harold Martin Scott (1901-1991)
Article Abstract:
Harold Martin Scott, former Head of Poultry Division in the Dept of Animal Sciences at the University of Illinois, died in 1991. Scott, who was born in 1901 in Lincoln, NE, finished his BS degree in 1924 at Oregon State College, his MS in 1927 at Kansas State College and his PhD in 1938 at the University of Illinois. He published several papers in biological journals, that include 'Poultry Science' and 'Journal of Experimental Zoology.' He received almost every research award from Poultry Science Assn, including the Ralston Purina Teaching Award of the association in 1969. In 1971, Scott was elected to the Poultry Hall of Fame.
