Hazel Metz Fox (1921-1989)
Article Abstract:
Hazel Metz Fox was a multifaceted nutrition scientist whose dedication as a researcher, teacher and administrator was remarkable. Her students in the nutritional sciences fondly described her as a great mentor with an admirable outlook in life. Fox received her bachelor of arts degree in home economics education from Western Maryland College in Westminster and both her master of science and doctor of philosophy degrees in human nutrition from Iowa State University. She was conferred the Borden Award in 1969 by the American Home Economics Assn in recognition of her contributions to the nutritional sciences.

Harold Henderson Williams (1907-1991)
Article Abstract:
Harold Henderson Williams was one of Cornell University's most accomplished faculty members when he retired in 1973 after almost three decades with the school. Williams, a native of Blanchard, PA, earned chemistry degrees from Pennsylvania State College and Cornell University. He later did research at Yale University and at Wayne State University. He joined Cornell in 1945 and taught biochemistry for many years at the School of Nutrition. Williams served on numerous advisory boards, and after his retirement continued writing for several science publications.
