A regulatory pathway of thermogenesis in brown fat through retinoic acid

Article Abstract:

Retinoic acid is involved in heat production and in the regulation of energy balance in brown adipose tissue in human bodies. This result occurs because retinoic acid regulates an enzyme, that helps in thermogenesis in brown tissue, through transcriptional regulation. This thermogenesis in brown adipose tissue happens when the enzyme uncouples the respiratory chain from oxidative phosphorylation.
