Constructive ergonomics
Article Abstract:
Commercial vehicles are failing to be designed to specific ergonomic standards, according to research carried out into the ergonomic elements of construction vehicles used in coal mining. The commercial sector is not covered by legislation regarding ergonomic standards, which puts workers lives and health at risk when using commercial vehicles. Many vehicles require operators to work in cramped, uncomfortable positions resulting in increased sick leave and slower rates of return.
