Side dishes are important to add that something special to a barbecue meal and to accompany the main course of meat or fish. Recipes for side dishes such as potato and peas salad, barbecue beans and apple and poppy seed slaw are described.

New England tradition

New England is the home of the Pilgrim's original Thanksgiving meals and local ingredients in season are common in many homes in 2000. A Thanksgiving menu and recipes which combine tradition and these seasonal foods are described.
