Go girls!: development of a community-based nutrition and physical activity program for overweight African-American adolescent females

A program is presented on weight management among African-American teenage girls, focusing on self perception and social cognitive theory. Components include nutrition education, weekly sessions with weight and health experts, physical activities and cooking classes.

A hamburger costume to teach food safety
Article Abstract:
An evaluation is presented on using costumes to illustrate educational information. A hamburger costume was found to be effective in demonstrating food safety concepts such as thorough cooking; steps on making the costume are included.
