Food-borne antibiotic-resistant campylobacter infections

Article Abstract:

The emergence of cases of quinolone or antibiotic resistant campylobacter bacterial infections in the US has been reported. Traditional care and treatment of food-borne pathogens may no longer be effective now that some bacterial strains are resistant to antibiotic drug therapy. Poultry consumption may be a risk factor in contracting the pathogen.

The Food Stamp Program and low-income legal immigrants

Article Abstract:

There is strong evidence that the food needs of all legal immigrants will not be met if they are denied benefits from the Food Stamp Program.
