BC high-school program teaches wood technology
Article Abstract:
WoodLINKS is an industry-education program for high school students in Victoria, British Columbia. The partnership program promotes careers in the wood industry and has links with universities, colleges, and industry professionals. Opportunites are created for technical training and future employment. More than 24 high schools in British Columbia have approved the program and curriculum.

Article Abstract:
Lumber companies can utilize computer-based training (CBT)programs to boost learning at a lower cost than that of traditional education. Two advantages of CBT are scheduling convenience and the possibility for self-pacing. Animation, clear video, and narration can enliven class sessions, and the cost is significantly less than using traditional classroom training.
