My personal mountain

Article Abstract:

Mount Ascutney in Vermont is called Cascadanac or 'hill with steep sides' by the native Abnakis. The mountain rises 3,320 feet above Vermont farmlands although 250 million years ago it used to be as high as the Himalayas. Erosion through the years has reduced it to its present height.
