Operation torch: early victory gave fresh U.S. troops momentum in World War II

When the Japanese attacked the Pearl Harbor during World War II, the U.S. president Franklin Roosevelt and British Prime Minister Winston Churchill agreed to confront German forces before taking on Japan, and the operation was known as 'Operation Torch'. The Germans fought intensely, but the American and British forces over powered them and made the 'Operation Torch' a success.
